Brown Butter Maple Vanilla Pancakes

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 egg

1 1/4 cup buttermilk

2 tbsp browned butter

1 tsp vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)

2 tsp REAL maple syrup

2 tbsp butter or oil (for pan)


In a mixing bowl mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and brown sugar

In a separate bowl combine buttermilk, egg, maple syrup, and vanilla and mix and well combined.

Combine wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined be careful not to over mix. Batter should be slightly thick and slightly lumpy.

Let batter sit 5-10 minutes

While batter is resting preheat griddle to 375.

When griddle is hot brush with melted butter. Using a 2oz ladle, scoop, or 1/4 cup measuring cup pool pancake batter onto griddle about 2 inches apart.

When pancakes have bubbles and are slightly dry around the edge (They should be crispy and brown this should take about 2 minutes)flip them over and cook until golden brown on the bottom (about 1 minute)

Repeat until all batter is gone.
